My First go at a Layout! » Simple By Design

Hi Everyone! So how was your weekend? Mine has been good, still nothing done around the house, but at least I got lots of crafting done..LOL.

So as the post heading says, I did my very first layout today, I do tell a little fib, I had a go a long time ago and well it ended up in the bin, so I don’t consider that my first layout, today I say this is my very first..LOL.

So I have been wanting to scrap about my trip to the South Coast, I have visited this area quite a few times and love it each time I visit. There is a small town called Tilba, and within this town there is an amazing garden that has quite a few acres, I love it each time I visit, it is truly beautiful to walk around or sit in little hidden areas and sit and relax. If you know me, my mind and head are forever racing and never seems to settle, this place is the only place that I have found that makes me feel at peace and that my mind relaxes.

So I decided to take the plunge after some encouraging words from some of my friends over at twitter, thank you girls 🙂

The page is a blank white card stock 12 x 12 page, stamped with Hero Arts, Flourish background stamp, inked with Soft Sand ink. At the bottom of the page I have used Soft Pink ink and stamped along the entire bottom of the 12 x 12 page using the Hero Arts, Garden Bouquet stamp. I created a title for my page using some American Crafts Thickers, Gift Box, Black, around the title and my journaling spot I punched some patterned paper from the My Minds Eye, Quite Contrary Collection with some Martha Stewart butterfly punches and adhered them to my page.

Here are some more close up views of my page.

I was really happy with the outcome of the layout and that I was able to incorporate something I love to do which is stamping, I am now looking forward in trying my hand at more of them.

I also wanted to mention in my post tonight that Purple Onion Designs is having a big birthday sale, the company is turning 7 and Everything is 25% until Monday, 26th July, so why not go on over and take a little shopping spree!

Well I look forward to knowing what you all think of my layout and I cannot wait to return tomorrow with another creation.

Oh and nearly forgot to mention that the video that I was going to bring you of the project that I was working on, sorry at present it has fallen in a flop. I will try to bring you something very soon, I promise.

So I am off to watch a little TV and surf the net.

Hugs
