Vellum Peony! » Simple By Design

Hello everyone! firstly, I have to send out the hugest of thanks to you all that left such sweet and kind comments both here on my blog and on twitter at the photos I took as self portraits, it touched me in many ways and more then you will ever know. It has been such a learning experience and one that has made me look at myself differently and in a good light…so I thank you all.

Tonight, I figured you probably are ready for a creation…so hence I am back here to share a creation for Jane’s Doodles…have you been to check out the store lately?? Jane has added some wonderful digital images for you all to create with, she has also has some freebies on the blog to dabble with too…be sure to pop on over and have a little looksie…

So my card for today was pretty straight forward…by stamping the Peony onto vellum twice and embossing with silver embossing powder, trimming both out, one full flower and the other the smaller centre piece, adhering together with a foam dimensional, adding a wooden button with some ribbon. Working on the rest of the card, by trimming white card stock to form the card, then trimming some pattern paper from Lily Bee, Memorandum paper pad, slightly smaller then the card front, the other piece was trimmed from the My Minds Eye, Rosy paper pad, this piece being trimmed into a strip and a V cut into the end, adhering this to the other pattern paper. I added a stamped sentiment to the top of the pattern paper, along with some pearls, adhering the pattern paper to the front of the card and completing the card by adding the vellum peony onto the strip of pattern paper.

My tip here if there is one that I can give is by cutting smaller strips from your scrap pattern paper, adding a V or not to the end and adding to your creation, you are able to use up those unwanted pieces that seem to collect in our crafting spaces.

Alrighty, time for me to almost head for bed, need an earlier night then I have been having as I have lots to do tomorrow.

Super big hugs to you all!
