Hello and Happy Friday!
So nice to almost see the weekend..
I wanted to pop in here really quickly to share a card with you and to also let you know that I will draw a winner to the Purple Onion Designs giveaway that is now closed for participants over the weekend and let you all know who is the lucky winner, thank you for everyone that commented about my card and also for the giveaway..
Now onto the card, I wanted to share this card with you all a couple of weeks ago, but sadly could not fit it into my schedule here on my blog, so I am sharing it all with you today..
This happened to be the card I created for my man Darryl’s birthday and I have to say it was super fun to put together..
I wanted the card to be interactive and also have fish of some description, as he loves to go out and go fishing..so why not use the Hero Arts, Layering Goldfish…I have to say, I want everything layering wise that Hero Arts has to offer, they are so beautiful and such an ease to work with…
So my card started with the fish of course, so taking out my Mini Misti, which is the best tool ever for the purposes of layering different colours, I then grabbed those fish and stamping out a base layer of Sunshine ink from Simon Says Stamp, the top layer with Coral Reef also from Simon Says Stamp, then I went back in with the top layer again, but this time inking up with Versamark ink and embossing the top layer with Clear Embossing Powder…I added the faces to the fish with black ink and then went about stamping out the seaweed with Green Apple and Green Leaf inks, die cutting out all the images, I then set those aside and whilst the die cutting was happening, I took the Let’s Get Nautical and the Peek-a-Boo Circle Windows die cutting out the white panel and also some Blu Raspberry card stock from MFT…
The interactive part of the card, was the shaker components, so once I adhered the Blue Raspberry to the window on the white panel, I added the acetate to the back and on the inside panel I added a watery scene by blending distress inks, Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers, I placed down the sequins from Lucy’s Little Things and sealed up the panels, I added the fish, seaweed and a sentiment from the stamp set Celebrate with Cake from MFT that I embossed with white embossing powder and lastly added clear droplets…
This was such a fun card to create and I sure hope it gives you inspiration to create some shaker cards..
Just on a side note, all items listed in the post, can be found in links at the bottom of this post 🙂
Well off to get a couple of jobs done for the day!
As I said I will be back over the weekend, in the mean time enjoy your day and have a fun crafty weekend..
