Watercolour Trees! » Simple By Design

Hi Everyone! Yes I know, long time no see again, work the last couple of days has been incredibly busy and just too hard to craft when you are absolutely knackered..LOL.

Anyways, I am back to share another Christmas card for you to feast your eyes on. I decided to give Jennifer McGuire’s watercolour technique using distress inks a go.

Using the Hero Arts, Hanging Trees stamp set, I inked the stamp up using Versamark Ink and stamping it onto some watercolour paper, embossing it with black embossing powder. Next, using my craft sheet and some distress ink, Peeled Paint, I stamped the ink pad directly to the craft sheet and spritzing the ink with water, taking a paint brush and painting the trees, applying ink until I was happy with the end result. Once the trees were dry, I cut each of them out and set aside. Using some Basic Grey patterned paper I stamped the Hero Arts, Starry Sky that was inked with distress ink, Antique Linen to the paper, applying distress ink, Vintage Photo to the edges of the patterned paper. Taking white card stock, I tore along one side to form and edge that resembled snow, adding light touch of vintage photo to the torn edge, then adhering this to the patterned paper. Next, attaching the trees to the top of the white card stock using foam dimensionals, adding some gemstones to the trees for added interest. Lastly, I took a sentiment from the Hero Arts, Get Merry stamp set and adhering the paper to green card stock that was trimmed to form a card.

Here is another view of the card.

Here are the products used to create this card.

Enjoy viewing the card, I promise that I will return tomorrow to share the start of the gift line that I am creating for the girls in our family for Christmas.

Have a great night everyone!
