Hello
Hump day of the week is here, grateful, a couple of days off to enjoy some crafty time..
This past weekend, I worked on a fun project using the Celebrations line from Richard Garay..
I thought it would be fun to die cut a balloon from the Hip Hip Hooray die set, cut the base of the balloon off and create my own hot air balloon..so this got me thinking as to a home decor piece for a kids bedroom or perhaps a new born baby’s room..
I chose to trim down a piece of white card stock that measured to fit a white frame 5 x 7, I then knew that I wanted to create a fun scene, using dies from the Sunny Days, die cutting clouds from Whip Cream card stock, along with a sun from some Golden Glow paper…the balloon itself I die cut out of Celebrations Special Occasion Prints…now the thinking cap was on to see what die I could use to create the basket that would connect to make the hot air balloon look real, so looking through the dies I could use the die that matched the tassel stamp set out of the Special Day set, die cutting from River Stone…happy with all the die cuts, I went about adhering everything to the 5 x 7 piece of card stock, creating a little scene, finishing off by drawing some lines as string with a black pen and then embossing a sentiment from the Special Day set to complete..
Super fun project and as a card maker, it really stretched me as a designer to look outside the box and create something that was not only unique but a beautiful present to be given to someone…
I hope you find some inspiration today and look at your dies and stamps in different ways to be able to stretch them and create something else..
Have a fabulous day, off to find something for lunch here and do a few chores before hitting the craft room..
Hugs
