Sailing Birthday! » Simple By Design

Hello

How was your weekend? We had freezing conditions, I am not complaining too much as I know the dreaded Summer is just around the corner, so I am making the most of it, but I will say it felt like the artic weather had arrived LOL…I managed to get some crafting done which I was happy and Darryl and Mum sat together catching up, whilst Bentley had his little spaz attacks and snoring moments..all in all it was a good weekend..

Mum is making a slow recovery and I know we still have a few hurdles to get through, but we are getting there, I just hope that with the physio that we started this week, it helps in the healing of her wrist..

So my man’s birthday is coming up and I have needed to make 2 cards for him this week, one for me to give him and one for Mum to do the same..so the Simon Says Stamp July Card Kit arrived right in time for me to create a card..

He loves fishing and boating, so seeing all the goodies in one box to create with, I was a happy camper..

I chose a pretty simple layout, creating little pattern banners at the top with a trinket and twine added, then a circle feature with the little boat die cut into it, adding dimension and pattern paper hidden in behind so that it would peek through, next came the sentiment and seeing as this was to be a birthday card I opted to die cut the word wishing out of slate card stock 3 times, adhering together so to add dimension, add it to the card front and then stamp a sentiment from the Sending and Wishing stamp set, lastly I know that these are not included in the kit, but I added a dash of enamel dots to complete..

Here is a close up of the card..

I am looking forward to creating more from this kit, I just adore Nautical cards..

Well I am off to check out what Mother is doing, she makes me nervous at times pottering around, I know I have to let her so that her independence gains back, but does not help my nerves LOL..

Have a great day!

Hugs
