Happy Monday
Hope you all had a lovely weekend..I spent some of the weekend with some family which was lovely to catch up after so long in not seeing each other, hoping to make that happen again very soon..it was exactly what I needed even though I found it hard not having him by my side and loads of tears on the way home, but I am so pleased that I made the effort to go…
I am hoping to be able to this coming weekend share once again, Hello Sunday so stay tuned to that, just needed a break from it all since the passing of Darryl..
To thank everyone who has sent cards, flowers or messages especially from overseas I wanted to share a card that I made a little while ago and so it was fitting to also use this as my opportunity to say thank you to those friends who have thought of me and please know that I am so touched by these thoughts, but to write and at this stage create cards to post back is a little hard, so please accept this as my hugest thank you to you all..
I also wanted to share my first go using the Karin Brushmarkers..
I took out the Wild Rose set from Pretty Pink Posh, stamping onto some water colour paper with Antique Linen and using a paint brush, water and the markers and I played with different depths of colour, the first largest flower, did not turn out how I wanted but for a first attempt it wasn’t bad, the smaller one I started to get the feel of the ink and how much water to apply..
I love these pens, it was quite hard to find them in Australia at the time but I did find a place to which you could purchase single ones as well as the smaller box set, Have a Point was the place I sourced out and they are just a wonderful company to deal with and fast postage, I have brought several more since creating this card and I have noticed that the site is now offering different boxed sets..
I chose to add my flowers to a central point of a die cut white circle with a sentiment that I embossed with white embossing powder onto Black Licorice card stock and die cut using Skinny Strips, adding this above the flowers that I popped up with foam tape..
I then added this to a Cement Gray card which had score lines to the centre of this and finished this card off by adding some sequins from Little Things from Lucy’s Cards..
I am looking forward to sitting and having more play with these markers, I find that you do not need to add too much of the ink, as it is rather intense, so I would find that these markers would last you a long time and if you are thinking about purchasing I think it is a wise investment, especially if you love to water colour or even like brush lettering with them..
I hope you find inspiration within this card today and once again my deepest thanks to everyone who has reached out to me over these hard last few weeks..
Have a great day!
Hugs
