MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge 291 » Simple By Design

Hey there

Wednesday, seems to come around super quick these days and of course as we all know, Wednesday means a new sketch over at MFT Challenge Blog..

Here is a look at the sketch if you would like to play along..

This week, I went back to an older set and used the Beautiful Baby, I figured it was always good to have baby cards on hand, they are one of those ones I don’t make often but seem to get asked occasionally for..

I used a white card base and trimmed a piece of Grout Gray card stock, slightly smaller then the card front, setting this aside to work on the rest of the card…die cutting another piece of white card stock, I went about adding Squeezed Lemonade distress ink to form a soft yellow background, once I was happy with the coverage, I took out the Stars in the Sky Vertical die and die cut into the blended card stock, adding this to the card front with foam dimensionals…next I stamped out a sweet little elephant from the Beautiful Baby stamp set using Cement Gray Premium Dye Ink, whilst stamping I took the baby rattle also and stamped it with some Berrylicious Hybrid Ink, I die cut both of these out and added them also to the card front..to follow the sketch itself, I needed a circular feature in the top right hand corner, so I die cut some Sno Cone card stock using Stitched Circle Stax and adding extra feature to the circle, I ran it through the die cutting machine again, this time using the Stitchable Dot Circle Stax, stamping a sentiment onto the circle and adhered this to the card front…to complete the card and sketch, I used some vellum, that I stamped another sentiment onto and wrapped it around the Grout Gray card stock, adding little hearts that I die cut also from some Sno Cone card stock..

I really was super happy with how this card turned out..

I find these sketches makes me not only stretch my imagination as to what I can use, but also allows me to use stamps and dies that I may not have used before or in fact only used once…

Be sure to swing past the Challenge Blog to see more inspiration and how you can enter the challenge..

I am off to craft some more..
