Hi there
WOW! has that month rolled around really quick, to think that this is my second release for MFT as part of the design team and I still pinch myself..
So today starts the August release and this month you are going to want deep pockets for purchasing 🙂 there is so much inspiration and so many goodies this month, there will be no disappointment..
To start you off this month, I chose to work with the stamp and die set called LJD Spooky Sweets…seriously just way too adorable for Halloween…
I chose to do a little scene on this card, using the new die called Essential Cover-Up Vertical, I die cut several layers of Steel Grey card stock, adhering these together to form the frame base…I also die cut this out of white card stock, discarding the outer frame and using the stitched inside panels only.. on these panels I chose to ink background using distress ink, Fossilized Amber, Seedless Preserves and Dusty Concord..once I was happy with the blended look, I stamped out a sentiment from the stamp set and embossed it, I also added more stamped features onto the card, the tree and stars and whilst stamping, I decided to stamp out the pumpkin and moon also in distress ink, Carved Pumpkin, Rusty Hinge, Spiced Marmalade and Mustard Seed, die cutting each of these images out and adding a die cut face to the pumpkin, adding a piece of Daffodil card stock at the back of the face…I did feel that my scene needed a little grounding so I die cut the Fresh Cut Grass out of some Black Licorice card stock…
It was time to put the card together, so for my card base I chose to use a neutral colour of Kraft, adhering the Essential Cover-Up Vertical frame to the card front and then adhered my panels into the top and bottom of the frame, lastly I added the grass, pumpkin and moon and then realised I needed some bats in this scene, so I quickly stamped those out and die cut them, adding them also to the card along with some sequins and enamel dots to complete..
I know here in Australia, that Halloween is only a small thing now and we don’t really celebrate it, but I so love to create Halloween cards, they are just so cool to create..
Thanks for stopping by today and be sure to swing past the MFT blog for loads more inspiration from the design team..
I will be back for Countdown Day 4 tomorrow..
