Gradient Copic Colour! » Simple By Design

Hi everyone! Posting a little late here on the blog with my Jane’s Doodles card, but better late then never as the saying goes…

I hope that you have all had a chance to check out my Lawnscaping Challenge card, if not you can view it below this post…

So last year, I was reading Nichole Heady’s blog and she used a technique with her Copics, I realised that at some point I knew I wanted to try my hand at this technique, it not only looked fun, but the effect of the end result was just beautiful…HERE is a link to the post where I first saw this created.

So this technique I tried out on this card and I think the effect was pretty good…I call this technique Gradient Copic Colour…

I took a piece of white card stock, trimmed to size and grabbing a colour family of Copics, I used RV25, RV23 and RV21, I started at the base of the card stock, running in a horizontal lines across the card stock, making sure to colour the entire section, I then blended where I had ended with that colour with the next colour and worked my way up the card stock, going over it a couple of times to get the right depth I was after. Once I was happy with the gradient of colour I took the Peony stamp and inked up with black ink, stamping over the entire card stock with that one stamp. Next, I took more white card stock, trimmed it to size, ran it through my Cuttlebug and embossed it with the Mehndi Medallion Impression Plate, corner rounding two corners then adhering this to a trimmed white card with foam dimensionals, also corner rounding the same corresponding corners, then adhering the Peony stamped card stock and finishing the card by stamping a sentiment from the same stamp set, cutting a V in one end of the sentiment banner, adding this to the card and finishing off with 3 pearls on the sentiment banner.

Such a fun way to use your Copics….

Alrughty, that is me for today, I am still working so I promise that Thursday will be the day that I will announce the winners of my blog candy and once again I apologise for the delay, work has taken life over at present.

Have a wonderful day everyone!
