Digital Images and Pattern Paper! » Simple By Design

Woohoo! it is Friday and I am ever so happy, can you tell?? I have the weekend off and have lots to do…and in fact as I sit here writing up this blog post I look down to see the time and it is after midnight, so that means my weekend has officially started.

What better way to start the weekend off then to share a card I designed for Jane’s Doodles…this time using her Pretty Poinsettia digital stamp, which you can purchase HERE

Yes I know that the other day I shared a card with you all and that was a poinsettia too, but this one is just as beautiful and fun to boot…

I know that there are people out there that shy away from digital images, but please don’t be afraid of them they are quite fun, you are able to resize them to any size that you desire and create many different wonderful effects with them…this for me will never take the place of rubber stamping, but I still enjoy to dabble and play around with something a little different, keeps my mind active.

I took the Pretty Poinsettia image and resized it on the computer, copy and pasted it and with the copied image I resized again to be slightly smaller, I also wanted the shading of the image to be a more softer tone, not the strong contrast of black, so I adjusted the levels. Printed them out onto some patterned paper, trimming each out and added touches of Vintage Photo to the edges, adhering together with Glossy Accents and adding Prima Rhinestones to the centre. I then stamped the Artist Circles with Versamark Ink onto Fine Linen card stock, embossing with white embossing powder, trimming down and adhering this to a white card. I added a sentiment along the bottom of the card and then added the poinsettia to complete the card.

Super quick, fun and well lets face it, I was able to incorporate the rubber stamping that I love so dearly.

I hope that this card gives you some inspiration and some confidence to try digital images…

Okay, well for me it is nighty nite all…time to lay the head down and crash out for the night..

Have a wonderful day or night where ever you are reading this post…

Hugs
